Hampton Iowa, March 16, 2009 - Hampton Area Chamber of Commerce and the Franklin County Tourism would like to announce that Mr. Brook S. Boehmler has accepted the position of Executive Director. He has resided in the Hampton area for the last two years. His father, Robert H. Boehmler, was originally from Hampton and his mother, Donna Swanstrom Boehmler, was from Iowa Falls. Mr Boehmler previously lived in Springfield, Missouri and Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Mr. Alan Moritz, the president of the Hampton Area Chamber of Commerce, stated, "The Chamber is excited to announce the hiring of Brook Boehmler as the new Director. Brook grew up in a small county seat town similar to Hampton working in his family's retail businesses so he understands the needs of our community. Brook's background of owning and managing his own business and business development lends a wealth of business knowledge and entrepreneurial skills to share with our Chamber members.”

Mr. Rick Janssen, president of the Franklin County Tourism Board, explained, "with Brook's extensive travel background, both in business and pleasure, we will continue to capitalize on our area's wonderful recreational, camping, overnight and shopping experience."

Mr. Boehmler was raised in Montgomery City, a small agricultural town in Missouri that was a county seat, 10 miles away from a major interstate highway. He started at a young age working in the family retail stores. He received his undergraduate degree in Marketing and later his graduate degree, with his Masters of Business Administration.

He has run numerous successful small businesses through out the Midwest and drew national recognition from his legal industry specific software company. Mr Boehmler has been semi-retired for the last 5 years and he is looking forward to continuing the dedication and volunteer spirit of the previous directors.
